O Thou That Tellest Good Tidings To Zion - No. 9

This chorus is sung as an extension of the alto solo of the same name, words taken from Isaiah 40:9.  In the video to the right, John Holiday, countertenor, sings with the The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. The video picks up midway through the solo beginning 3 measures before F in the score. The chorus enters at H in the score which is at 1:15 in the video.  The chorus emphasizes what the soloist has just said, that those proclaiming the good news of Christ should not be afraid to proclaim it, even from the very highest mountain!
